Mainpac 2011

Mainpac 2011 is the latest in a generation of Mainpac software products designed to support best-practice asset management processes.

Strategic Asset Planning and Operations

Mainpac 2011 provides the ability to bind short, mid and long term strategic asset management planning with daily operations in a way and with an economy that was hitherto unavailable.

While recognised as a valuable business improvement tool, this capability has previously been expensive and difficult to accommodate requiring a multi system approach, significant integration costs and extensive lead times to delivery. Competition to access the IT resources to deliver this functionality has further hampered its realisation.

The capability to analyse the success of asset management strategies and track any underlying problems enables accurate and fast strategic operational changes to be made and improved business results to be delivered with certainty.

Mainpac 2011 can

  • Measure how well asset management operations are performing in business terms,
  • Provide detailed access to those factors or events that may be causing critical KPI performance measures  to be missed and;
  • Support their rectification and remodelling to improve business performance.

Standard or Advanced Capabilities

While many maintenance practices appear similar across businesses, the needs of inventory and procurement business activities vary extensively between organisations. Some organisations require control of Goods in Transit, some do not. Others require average costings of inventory while some require LIFO or FIFO control. Some require extensive bin controls while others require simpler controls.
Procurement practices vary extensively also, some organisations requiring regimented delegated purchasing authority management while others have less regimented controls.  Buyer cataloguing and control are further instances of potential variability between “Standard” operations and the more complex “Advanced” controls.

Now Mainpac 2011 enables those firms wanting to introduce progressive change to move within the same system from Standard to Advanced levels of control without changing their underlying software and experiencing the cost associated with significant change.

Simply procuring the new licence rights to will gain access to the new Advanced facilities that can be switched on.  Of course the new processes and procedures need to be set up and Mainpac’s Engagement Division will assist in helping these to be implemented

User Experience

A focus of the Mainpac 2011 user experience is on making the right information and actions available to end-users at the right time.

Core screens within Mainpac 2011 present the majority of information on a single page while most actions are only a single-click away from the end-user.

The search capabilities in Mainpac 2011 provide a variety of means of locating and working with data while the extensible operational dashboards allow organisations to tailor the information that is delivered to their end-users.

Technology

Mainpac 2011 is browser-deployed and supported on both Mozilla Firefox 3.6+ and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7+. It is based on standard Microsoft technologies utilising the .NET framework, MS SQL Server and Microsoft Reporting Services.

This use of Microsoft technology enables users to enjoy the benefit of a low total cost of ownership, accelerated implementation cycles - so that business benefits can be delivered earlier and Mainpac can provide a system that is responsive rapidly to change.
