Executive Management Team
James Alexander Kirk – Executive Chairman
Having joined Mainpac in 2004 as national client services manager, James Kirk took over as CEO a year later. In July of 2009, James was appointed to the position of Executive Chairman and CEO following the completion intensive multiyear re-development of Mainpac's Asset Management software to meet the fast-evolving demands of Asset Management needs in Australian Industry and selected international markets.
Since the appointment of Andy Mason as CEO in 2010, James continues as Executive Chairman and Director of the Mainpac Board. In addition, James is also on the Board of the Cooperative Research Centre for Infrastructure and Engineering Asset Management (www.cieam.com) based in Queensland. At Mainpac, James continues to focus on initiatives to expand the Mainpac business internationally through strategic alliances and partnerships, and working directly with global Mainpac customers.
James joined Mainpac from the IT services company Praxa Limited with more than 20 years’ experience in the computer, communications/networking, consulting and manufacturing industries. He has considerable experience in general management, sales management, international and solutions marketing, as well as business development.
Early in his career James spent 14 years with NCR in industry marketing and sales positions in Australia and the USA. His overseas career also included an assignment with AT&T Global Information Solutions responsible for industry and worldwide partnership marketing before returning to Australia in the mid 1990s. Having established an Asia Pacific consulting partners program for networking company Novell Asia Pacific, James then spent several years with Andersen Consulting/Accenture as an Associate Partner managing joint venture, alliance and business development programs in the Asia Pacific region.
James has a Bachelor of Business from Monash University in Melbourne, and is also a member Australian Institute of Company Directors, and, Engineers Australia.
Andrew Mason – Chief Executive Officer
Andrew (Andy) Mason joined Mainpac in 2010 as Chief Executive Officer, taking over the role from James Kirk. Andy has more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry in the UK, Australia and other countries.
Andy Mason's career began in the UK with Burroughs and saw him relocate to Australia in 1982. He had subsequent senior sales, marketing, consulting and senior management roles with major companies including NCR/AT&T and Tandem across Europe, North America, Middle East and South East Asia. Most recently he was based in Darwin providing consulting services to the NT Government on public sector IT projects. Prior to that Andy spent two years with SAIC, a large US-based government systems integration company.
Andy Mason has a BSc (Hons) from the London School of Economics.
Richard Kneeves – Chief Financial Officer
Richard Kneeves joined Mainpac as Chief Financial Officer in February 2006. Prior to joining Mainpac, Richard had 30 years’ experience in the IT industry and has held various senior roles many of which as Finance Director gave him vast experience with international companies, publicly listed companies, acquisitions and divestments. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with merit) from the University of NSW, is a CPA and a registered Tax Agent.
