In 2014 the management of the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust and Centennial Parklands & Moore Park Trust embarked on an integration that was in part driven by the need for consistency of approach and efficiencies across the two trusts. The new integrated entity, known as Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands (BGCP), realised that to support this merger business processes and supporting tools also needed to be consolidated.
In 2015 the newly formed Assets & Facilities Management department of BGCP considered options for a computerized asset management system. The Mainpac product that was already established within the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust prior to the integration, was selected as the best option when considering the balance of functionality and cost.
Mainpac Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) provides BGCP with a four phased two year transition plan;
- Upgrading and installing Mainpac EAM across all sites,
- Developing a capital asset management plan (CAPM),
- Integrating EAM with the incumbent SAP financial product and
- Developing and adding advanced EAM functionality.
The Botanic Gardens Trust is a statutory body established under the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Act 1980. It is responsible for the management and stewardship of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the Domain, the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan and the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah.
In 2014 the administrative staff of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust integrated with the administrative staff of the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust. The new integrated entity is known as ‘Botanic Gardens & Centennial Parklands’, and is responsible for the following seven sites:
- Centennial Park
- Moore Park
- Queens Park
- Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
- The Domain
- Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan
- Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah
